The Dorian mode is the 2nd mode of a major scale. If you have read guitar modes explained, you should already have a pretty good idea of how modes this post we are going to go into the specifics of the dorian mode. Today’s lesson is a quick style file focus on the Dorian mode. It includes all five shapes of the scale, a neck diagram, triad and arpeggio shapes, some useful progressions and three essential licks. Dorian Mode. The Dorian Scale, or mode that is the more correct name, is the second of the seven modes.
